Course Overview

This course provides a comprehensive update on medications to treat osteoporosis and reduce fracture risk.

After this course, you should:

    • Recognise the goal of pharmacological therapy.
    • Identify patients that should initiate osteoporosis treatment to prevent fragility
      fractures.
    • Classify and distinguish the different osteoporosis medications.
    • Be able to evaluate evidence for anti-fracture efficacy and safety of each osteoporosis treatment.
    • Be able to select the osteoporosis treatment suitable according to patients’ profile and lifestyle.

Self-assessment criteria:

    • You must complete a multiple-choice question-based assessment to test your understanding of the content covered in this course.
    • There are 7 questions with a time limit of 15 minutes to complete the assessment. Once this time has elapsed, the assessment will be considered   completed at its current level of progress.
    • A maximum of three attempts are allowed to pass the self-assessment.
    • You should achieve a score of 80% or more.

If you successfully pass the assessment, you will be awarded certification for course 6 and progress to course 7.
