4. HOW TO RECOGNIZE AT-RISK PATIENTS
Course Overview
This course covers how to identify and evaluate high-risk patients for osteoporosis-related fracture.
Following completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand risk factors for fragility fractures.
- Identify at-risk patients according to international guidelines.
- Evaluate BMD and interpret a bone densitometry report.
- Diagnose a patient with osteoporosis without a BMD measurement.
- Describe main predictive tools of fracture.
Self-assessment criteria:
- You must complete a multiple-choice question-based assessment to test your understanding of the content covered in this course.
- There are 7 questions with a time limit of 15 minutes to complete the assessment. Once this time has elapsed, the assessment will be considered completed at its current level of progress.
- A maximum of three attempts are allowed to pass the Self-assessment.
- The pass mark is 80%.
If you successfully pass the assessment, you will be awarded certification for course 4 and progress on to course 5.
