Course Overview

This course covers how to identify and evaluate high-risk patients for osteoporosis-related fracture.

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

    • Understand risk factors for fragility fractures.
    • Identify at-risk patients according to international guidelines.
    • Evaluate BMD and interpret a bone densitometry report.
    • Diagnose a patient with osteoporosis without a BMD measurement.
    • Describe main predictive tools of fracture.

Self-assessment criteria:

    • You must complete a multiple-choice question-based assessment to test your understanding of the content covered in this course.
    • There are 7 questions with a time limit of 15 minutes to complete the assessment. Once this time has elapsed, the assessment will be considered completed at its current level of progress.
    • A maximum of three attempts are allowed to pass the Self-assessment.
    • The pass mark is 80%.

If you successfully pass the assessment, you will be awarded certification for course 4 and progress on to course 5.
